This rural acreage had been put out to pasture. Time to redefine the backyard.

The design goal was to create an outdoor extension of their indoor entertainment. The flow anticipates family and friends going back and forth from the billiard room to the swimming pool, from the kitchen to the patios, out to the bench near the water fall with a coffee, and at the end of the day from the hot tub and off to bed.

With a large property, there is a balance to strike between openness and enclosure. The design layout needs to give the users a sense of the overall space and size, while providing intimacy. Many family gatherings and parties have put this new garden to the test: it passed!
