6/16/04 -- Reinier van de Poll has been published in a new book entitled, A Place In The Rain – Designing the West Coast Garden. Reinier contributed a chapter on designing a West Coast Garden. Steve Whysall, of the Vancouver Sun, had this to say in his May 22nd review:  “A Place in the Rain is filled with interesting opinions, helpful ideas on garden design and informed plant choices of some very familiar B.C. garden experts. Their combined efforts make A Place in the Rain a valuable work for both inspiration and reference.” 

The book is published by Whitecap Books of North Vancouver. Get your copy at your favourite book store or garden centre. A successful book launch at the recent Van Dusen Garden Show was followed by an introduction to the book by the editor, Mike Lascelle. Coordinated by Mike Lascelle (writer, design instructor, and nursery manager at Amsterdam Greenhouses & Garden Center), the book includes prominent B.C. landscape designers, landscapers and landscape architects -- each of whom contributed an article-length chapter on a different design or landscape component.
