Prestigious GOLD RIBBON awarded to Van de Poll
Garden Design & Heritage Perennials at recent
van Dusen Flower & Garden Show
06/18/04 -- At the recent 2004 Van Dusen Garden Show the panel of
judges awarded the prestigious Gold Ribbon to the feature display team of Van de Poll
Garden Design and Heritage Perennials for their
garden interpretation of “Three Billy Goats
Gruff”. The theme
for this year’s feature display gardens was “Garden Tales-Gardens
from Literature”. The competition was strong, with outstanding
display gardens from GardenWorks, Mandeville
Garden Centre, Minter Country Gardens, Home
Depot, Perennial Gardens, Vancouver Parks Board,
99 Nursery, and Unique Koi.
Here are some of the comments from the panel of judges on the display garden by Van de Poll Garden Design and Heritage Perennials: This garden is beautifully designed and executed. The
scale, composition, and artfulness of the
display are incomparable. It shows that a display does not have to
be large or splashy to come forward as a
clear winner. The materials are well chosen;
the arrangement of the plants was done with
discernment. The interpretation of the story
